CD Replication Services

CD Replication take place in a factory often referred to as a replication plant. Disc quantities over 500 or a 1,000 discs would be replicated. The process for replicating CD’s starts with a masters disc which is used to create a glass master, this allows a set of stampers to be manufactured. Small cubes of plastic are then heated and remoulded in the shape of the disc, using a process call injection moulding.

The next step in the process is for a reflective coat of aluminium to be added to the disc and sealed with protective coat of lacquer which is in turn is hardened under an ultraviolet light.

The process of manufacturing the disc is now completed. The discs are now loaded onto a printing machine. Depending on the client’s requirements this can be Digital, Off-Set, Litho or Screen printed.
